EMDR

Whether you have done therapy for years and are looking for a different approach, or you are exploring the idea of therapy for the first time, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) could benefit you.

Research has shown that EMDR can be a helpful treatment for a wide variety of mental health concerns, including but not limited to:

  • Post-traumatic stress

  • Developmental or childhood trauma (including C-PTSD)

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Low self esteem

  • Chronic pain

  • OCD

  • Disordered eating

EMDR therapy utilizes bilateral stimulation (typically through back-and-forth eye movements, similar to those that occur during REM sleep) to tap into the body’s natural healing processes. EMDR does not require extensive discussion or re-experiencing of traumas in order to be effective. This type of therapy is also very customizable, especially when conducted virtually, and can include artistic expression, movement, and other forms of creative processing.
